This is the final version of the database suite of Apple Events. This is a programmer reference designed to provide technical specifications for the events and objects defined in this standard suite. This obsoletes any and all previous versions of the suite, including the file “DB Æ 1.0 image” which was created in November of 1991.
In this folder are the files “AER—Database Suite” and “AER—Database Suite.idx” which are the DocViewer file and index. These form the actual document. You may print it if you like or view it on the screen. You will need Apple’s DocViewer program to open these files. It should be on this CD in a utility folder.
There are also two folders here. “Header Files” contains the header files which define the constants used in the Database suite. You can include these in your MPW and THINK programming projects. “DB aete” contains an MPW Rez file which defines a complete aete resource for the Database suite, along with a resource file with the aete resource itself already built. You may need to customize these to create an aete for your application.
These files should provide you with all the information specific to the Database suite needed to implement a Database suite compliant application. You will need other resources, such as the “Apple Event Registry: Standard Suites” and the New Inside Macintosh: Interapplication Communication volume, to complete the task though.
